Raise Kitchen Cabinets To Ceiling. Cabinets and trim go all the way to the ceiling but the cabinets will probably need to be stacked. If the ceiling height of your kitchen is nine or ten feet the cabinetry can be treated one of two ways.
You may not want to go all the way to the ceiling since not all ceiling are level. However it creates a nice classic look and eliminates any need to decorate above the uppers. It really allows more light to bounce around my kitchen and it makes a big difference.
If you are set on the look but the cost seems prohibitive then false cabinets panels extending to the ceiling is probably the best option.
I want to do this too but have a higher ceiling with crown already in place the pics that Ive seen just involved people ripping out soffits or they just had shorter ceiling heights. You may not want to go all the way to the ceiling since not all ceiling are level. The floating shelf would be between 6 to 9 deep. In other words you will have something like a 36 wall cabinet with a 12 18 high smaller cabinet on top of it.
